School Safety Plan

• Plan reviewed with staff, law enforcement, and fire authority. 

• Approved by site and district leaders (Principal, Director of Student Services, SSC Chair). 

• Child abuse reporting and mandated-reporter training. 

• Disaster readiness (earthquake, fire, lockdown/lockout, evacuation). 

• Suspension/expulsion guidelines and teacher notification of dangerous pupils. 

• Anti-discrimination, sexual harassment, bullying/cyberbullying, and hate-crime reporting. 

• Dress code/uniform expectations and school-wide behavior supports. 

• Safe ingress/egress, traffic flow, and visitor management. 

• Safe & Civil Schools routines, Capturing Kids’ Hearts practices, and restorative approaches. 
• Attendance supports via SART/SARB processes; ongoing monitoring through Synergy. 
• On-site counselor and social worker; referrals to district and community resources. 

• Annual modules for employees (Mandated Reporter, Bullying/Cyberbullying, Suicide Awareness, Diversity, Workplace Violence, Opioid Response, Sexual Harassment, etc.). 
• Regular drills including participation in the Great California ShakeOut. 

• Naloxone (Narcan) and Epi-pen awareness and administration training provided to designated staff. 
• AED available on campus; emergency care procedures aligned with board policy. 

• Uses California’s SEMS/ICS structure (Management; Planning/Intelligence; Operations; Logistics; Finance/Admin). 

• Clear roles for incident command, communication, reunification, and documentation. 

• “Locks, Lights, Out of Sight” protocol during lockdown. 

• Law enforcement delivers room-by-room “all clear.” 

• Doors remain closed; students are not released until directed by law enforcement. 

• All visitors check in at the main office and are screened through the Raptor system. 

• Posted emergency routes in all rooms; front-gate morning entry and designated dismissal gates. 

Specific mobility and support procedures during drills and emergencies. 

• Emergency supplies maintained; campus may serve as a community shelter when needed. 

• Collaboration with district Safety & Security and local public-safety partners. 

• Concerns about safety, bullying, or harassment may be shared with a teacher, counselor, or the main office. 

• Mandated reporters follow immediate telephone and written-report procedures per law.
