Attendance Policies & Reporting
At PUSD, our priority is the success of your child. We recognize that a key ingredient to student success is consistent school attendance - missing school equates to missed learning opportunities. Good attendance is a shared responsibility between the student, family, school, and district; we welcome the opportunity to work collaboratively with all families to ensure that PUSD students develop and maintain good attendance habits.
Report Absences
If you have a doctor's note...
If you have a doctor's note, court note, funeral card or other official document please report the absence on the form located below or drop the document off in person.
Students on SART contracts (attendance)
Students on SART contracts (attendance) must always submit an official document (Dr. note, court note, funeral card, etc.) in order for absences to be excused.
If you do not have an official document
If you do not have an official document and your student is not on a SART contract please report the absence on Parent Square within 3 days of the absence.
If you are unable to report electronically
If you are unable to report electronically and your student is not on a SART contract please make sure that the attendance office
receives a hand-written note within 3 days of the absence. Please include your student’s name and birthdate, date of the absence,
reason for the absence and your signature on the note.
